Just when you thought you’d seen it all, KXO Radio is reporting that U.S. Customs and Border Protection is offering a $250,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the death of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Robert Rosas , who was killed in the line of duty July 23, 2009 near Campo , California.

“CBP offers this reward to encourage anyone with information on the murder of Agent Rosas to come forward and share this information with the FBI, ” said CBP Acting Commisioner Jayson P. Ahern.
On July 23, Agent Rosas was shot and killed by unidentified assailants while responding to suspicious activity near Campo. Reports indicate that Agent Rosas left his vehicle in the vicinity of Shockey Truck Trail to track a group of individuals. Border Patrol agents patrolling nearby heard gunshots and tried to contact Rosas. After he failed to respond , they rushed to locate him. They found the agent near his vehicle, shot several times.
An international effort involving the FBI , Immigration and Customs Enforcement ( ICE ) , the San Diego County Sheriffs Department . the Government of Mexico and other partners is underway to locate the people resonsible for Agent Rosas death. CBP is asking anyone with information to contact the FBI at 858 – 565 – 1255. CBP’s $250,000 reward is in addition to the FBI’S $100,000 reward offer and an additional $10,000 for the recovery of Agent Rosas service weapon….. KXO Radio AM1230

Now wait a moment. Wasn’t it reported that Mexico has detained some suspects in the murder, recovered a weapon allegedly used?

And to add more to this bizarre story, didn’t the FBI have a suspect in custody, 500 miles north of the crime scene in a San Jose Hospital?

And then strangely enough, we have a member of the domestic terrorists, MCDC, claiming to have been a “witness” to the shooting.

Where the Minutemen are involved, someone is going to die.

The Minutemen group reported that the shooting incident occurred on U.S. territory about 100 feet north of the border after several agents responded to a call from a minuteman scout/ observer that four persons had trespassed over the border in front of his outpost at about 8:45 pm last night. The outpost is located at the border in Campo, Ca., about 60 miles east of San Diego.

The minuteman scout, a member of the Campo Minutemen organization, told Minuteman Project president Jim Gilchrist that within minutes of his call about a half dozen agents responded and approached the intruders on foot. A foot chase ensued whereupon one of the intruders opened fire on Agent Rosas. He died at the scene from a gunshot wound to the head. Perhaps this writer has the right idea about the close proximity to Camp Vigilence and the murder of this BP officer.
