Dee at Immigration Talk with a Mexican American has written an essay that she calls, “THE BLEACHING OF AMERICA” and as usual, she’s hit a nerve among the anti’s that spam her site.

What is “THE BLEACHING OF AMERICA”? In her words,

The truth is they are advocating legislation which would vastly reduce the number of non-whites in America and restrict future Immigration to allow primarily educated northern Europeans to enter.

And how is this being done? In addition to other methods, Dee points out the most common.

1. Mass Deportation of the 12M here: A Wall on the Southern Border, enforcement of current broken immigration laws, ICE Raids promoted to ensure the 12M here are deported.
2. Official English: Although Congress ruled English as the National Language, extremists advocate Official English laws thereby permitting the printing of all government documents, particularly voting documents, in English only. This includes stopping any government agency from providing Translators. Some local/state legislation has produced restrictions on Spanish in the workplace, even between co-workers.
3. Change the 14th Ammendment: Change Birthright citizenship laws to citizenship based on parental status. (Jus Soli vs Jus Sanguine)
4. Reduced/Regulated Future Immigration: Many ANTI Immigration Reform websites advocate regulating future immigration to only educated Northern Europeans.

And she concludes with more evidence to support her statements.

When I have studied these groups’ websites they also oppose our President, Barack Obama, often promoting conspiracy theories about his birth certificate. Lou Dobbs, Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh, strong Anti Immigration Reform zealots are also strong opponents of the President, wishing for him to FAIL.

They also oppose the candidacy of the honorable Judge Sotomayor for Supreme Court Justice. They also demonize reputable Latino Humanitarian organizations including NCLR (who they negatively refer to as “La Raza”), MALDEF, PRLDEF.

If you also consider the fact they are opposed to Immigration from the Middle East, Africa and those they term “3rd World Countries”, ALL COUNTRIES OF COLOR, you begin to understand their overall motivation. Many of their closet members are members of Hate Groups, including the KKK, Stormfront, NSMs, White Nationalists, Skinheads and more.

When you study all of these issues and their perspectives, it is clear. The majority of ANTI Immigration Reformers are advocating “The Bleaching of America!”

Of course, when the pro immigration reform movement hits a nerve with the anti’s, the xenophobes, bigots and nativists, they come out in full force to oppose the messenger, even though their message is full of trite accusations that have no basis.

One of her commenter’s made this challenge.

Please provide a reference to any mainstream pro-America source that advocates reducing the number of non-whites in America. To the extent that any fringe element advocates this it is analogous to the advocacy of La Raza, MALDEF, LULAC, PRLDEF, and MEChA that advocate for their race. The “bleaching of America” idea is the output of a feeble mind

Dee, definitely has anything but a feeble mind. That’s evidence in the years of articles she has posted on her blog. But this commenter wants references to what she says? We can offer you a good one.

Pat Buchanan – America’s Mainstream Bigot

Ya’ll recognize the name. Former candidate for President, Christian neo con, etc. etc.?

Buchanan’s latest rant is prima facie evidence of Dee’s claim to the “BLEACHING OF AMERICA”. And people listen to this fool.

“White men were 100% of the people that wrote the Constitution, 100% of the people that signed the Declaration of Independence, 100% of the people who died at Gettysburg and Vicksburg, probably close to 100% of the people who died at Normandy. This has been a country built basically by white folks.” – Pat Buchanan

As addendum, what’s funny is that ‘whiteness’ is a construct that did not exist in the historic time-frame that Buchanan cites. Irish-Americans and Italian-Americans were certainly not considered ‘white’ at the writing of the Consititution or the Battle of Normandy. Ironically, it isn’t until theotherization and exclusion of Chinese immigrants that ‘whiteness’ emerges in the United States in tune with the concept of ‘illegal immigration.’ Anyone who pours over historical newspaper archives, would discover how Chinese immigration was set apart from ‘regular immigration’ and marked for exclusion.

That has been the history of this country–labeling bodies, putting new immigrants into categories and then marking them as various deviants of the law while the labels and categories shift over time. Buchanan is seemingly ignorant of this. For him, immigration is Meximmigration, illegal immigration is our biggest foreign policy crisis, and a white minority scares him to death.

And of course, those who try to justify this attitude with references to civil and human rights groups like NAACP, NCLR, MALDEF and others, are part of the problem.
