Shawn from Utah Patriot Militia, caring for Boggs' attack chihuahua, "Tinkerbell"

JT Ready’s campout next to Interstate 8 in Arizona this past weekend, produced some interesting characters, including this “Patriot” who came all the way from Utah to smooze with the Neo Nazis and care for the chihuahua, “Tinkerbell” (how appropriate) belonging to Ready’s token minority, “Apache Tracker” Will Boggs.

Lemmons reports;

The mild-mannered “Shawn” of the Utah Patriot Militia, who had flown from the Beehive State to camp out in the Vekol Valley with Ready, didn’t seem to grok the insanity of the situation either, though he spent several minutes telling me that one of his big goals was to get the militia movement to run background checks on everyone to weed out the bad apples, like, you know, neo-Nazis, I guess.

“I personally just consider myself to be a patriot,” he told me while holding Boggs’ Chihuahua “Tinkerbell,” adding, “Not everyone here shares the same ideology.”

Guess this kid wasn’t trusted with a weapon yet. But he makes a great dog handler. Woof Woof!!!!

JT Ready

JT Ready at the press conference before playing "king of the hill"

Apparently, J.T. Ready’s little soiree in the desert was a success, in his mind at least, and in ours, since he was unsuccessful in killing any Mexicans as seemed to be his intent. He was hampered though by the media entourage that accompanied him as his small group attacked and secured an abandoned building within sight of Interstate 8, hardly the securing of the border he had in mind.

Stephen Lemmons of Phoenix New Times and acclaimed videographer Dennis Gilman were along for the ride, and Lemmon’s account of the weekend is so damned funny, we’ll let him tell it.

It’s not every day that a well-known neo-Nazi offers to take you to a place called “the slaughterhouse.”

JT Ready, Arizona Neo Nazi and buds with State Senator Russell Pearce, Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Andrew Thomas and other anti immigrant celebs, planning a "Mexikun hunt" on the border this weekend

Apparently, Pinal Sheriff Paul Babeu is giving the wink and a nod to Neo Nazi J.T. Ready’s “Border Ops” this weekend by claiming lack of resources to monitor the situation.

At a press conference on June 11 in Casa Grande about suspected drug smugglers who were shot in the same general area where a Pinal County Sheriff’s deputy was shot on April 30, Sheriff Babeu said about this remote area of Pinal County, about 20 miles southwest of Casa Grande, “Drug cartels are in control,” Babeu said. “We don’t own that.”

The Pinal County Sheriff’s office was contacted about Ready’s open incitement to come to the border and hunt Mexicans.

Pinal County Sheriff’s Lt. Tamatha Villar said that they do not, unfortunately, have the resources available to send deputies to monitor the operation but that the regional commander of the area “has been made aware of this information and he has instructed his patrol staff to monitor the area.”

Sergio Adrián Hernández Güereca

Sergio Adrián Hernández Güereca

The union that represents non supervisory personnel of the US Border Patrol continues to rationalize and try to justify the murder of 15 year Sergio Adrián Hernández Güereca, by an unidentified member of their union.

Cesar Lujan with the NBPC says the teen was on the El Paso Most Wanted Juvenile list for smuggling. The border patrol allegedly keeps an internal list to keep track of teens involved in smuggling illegal immigrants.

So now it is an “internal” list instead of a public “Most Wanted List” as some have insinuated. Still, releasing details of a juveniles criminal history is against the law in both the United States and Mexico.

Juarez Police will be keeping an eye on their side of the border as well as ours in an attempt to prevent another murder of one of their citizens

U.S. Border Patrol agents will not work alone in trouble spots which also will be watched closer by Mexican police to prevent more violence after last week’s wanton murder of a Juárez teenager, authorities said Monday.

The mayors of El Paso and Juárez and law enforcement officials met Monday morning to discuss ways to stem problems on the international boundary between the cities.

The meeting at El Paso City Hall took place a week after the murder of Sergio Adrián Hernández Güereca, 15, who was executed by a Border Patrol agent who claimed to being attacked with rocks while trying to make an arrest on the Rio Grande in Downtown El Paso. Videos of the incident contradict the agents account.

The meeting included leaders of the Border Patrol, U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Juárez and Chihuahua state police.
