William "Jabbering Jackass" Gheen

They don't call me the "Jabbering Jackass" for nothing and don't you forget it America - ALIPAC Prez William Gheen

Arizona Senate candidate Jim Deakin responded to ALIPAC President William Gheen’s demands that he drop out of the primary race and throw his support behind former corrupt Congressman JD Hayworth.

Mr. Deakin’s response:

The campaign for Conservative Tea Party candidate Jim Deakin responded to a letter suggesting he withdraw from the US Senatorial race. The request, in support of the Hayworth campaign comes at a time when Hayworth is losing significant support, the Deakin campaign noted.

It is obvious the Hayworth camp is grasping for any help they can muster. But it may be too late and time for Hayworth supporters to realize the real candidate with the best shot to beat the incumbent is Jim Deakin. That being said, those who have supported the incumbent in spite of Hayworth now know there is another choice.

We therefore ask any supporters of either Senatorial opponents to carefully consider their options” the campaign added.

The letter in question took veiled liberties and distortions and is leaning heavily on scare tactics and overblown endorsements.

“We feel this letter is a last-minute, desperate grasp by Mr. Gheen and ALIPAC to distort my candidacy and legitimacy. Stating that “American’s” ask Jim Deakin not to do something is ludicrous. Jim Deakin has plenty of Americans who will support and stand with him as well. Maybe we should state that “Americans Back Deakin for US Senate” the campaign stated.

Senate dark horse candidate Jim Deakin responded to ALIPAC President William Gheen "strong suggestion" that he drop from the race by refusing to do so. As expected, Gheen goes on the attack.

Once again, discredited ALIPAC President William Gheen is in the news. This time, trying to force political newcomer Jim Deakin, running against Arizona Senator John McCain and former Congressman JD Hayworth, whose time in Congress was marred by his association with the corruption of lobbyist Jack Abramoff, out of the race for McCain’s Senate seat.

This morning, Willy released another of his sophomoric press releases calling on Deakin to step down so Gheen’s candidate, the corrupt JD Hayworth might have a chance of besting McCain in the upcoming primaries.

“Unfortunately, Mr. Deakin’s continued candidacy has a strong chance of handing the election to John McCain, yet he has almost no significant chance of winning the race according to numerous polls and historical election models,” said “Whining”Willy Gheen of Americans for Legal Immigration.

A Customs Border Protection K-9 on duty in El Paso

EL PASO, Texas — A U.S. Customs and Border Protection drug-sniffing dog is left inside a unit by an officer and dies.

KFOX was able to confirm the statement with CBP officials last week. CBP officials said the incident happened on July 6, but won’t release any other details.

A source tells KFOX that the CBP officer finished his overnight shift at one of the ports of entry and forgot to put his dog back in the kennel.

The source said the dog was left inside the vehicle from 8 in the morning until 4 in the afternoon, when he was found dead.

KFOX talked to a local animal advocate who said a service dog is supposed to be an officer’s partner.

“The natural temperature for a dog is 102 degrees. At 104 degrees, the animal is gonna go into cardiac arrest and cause severe brain damage. The temperatures are going to rise in the cabin of a vehicle within 10 to 15 minutes,” said Rebecca Rojas, a local animal advocate.

CBP officials said immediate steps were taken to ensure that a similar incident will not be repeated.

Okay, okay! Now what you thought, but just about as bad. Neglecting a defenseless animal in this manner. And of course, as in the murder of the 15 year old last month by Border Patrol Officers, it appears they’ll try to cover this one up to. Where is PETA and SPCA when you needs them? These dogs cost between $15-20,000.00 to obtain and train.

A grassroots organization supported by ALIPAC, fell short of gathering enough signatures to get a proposed constitutional amendment on illegal aliens on the ballot this fall.

The Secretary of State’s office determined that Secure Arkansas, which proposed a constitutional amendment to prevent illegal aliens from receiving certain public benefits, gathered just 67,542 signatures.

That number was arrived at after an initial count and not from the more thorough validation process. The group had been scrambling last week to gather what it thought would be the remaining signatures for the measure.

The group said last Friday that it had submitted 78,211 signatures.

Sponsors of proposed constitutional amendments must circulate petitions and gather 77,468 valid signatures, or 10 percent of the total number of votes cast for governor in 2006, in order to place a proposed constitutional amendment on the 2010 ballot.

Sandra McGrew, a spokesman for the Secretary of State’s office, said Secure Arkansas would have received 30 more days to gather signatures if the shortage had been due to names being tossed out for reasons like illegible handwriting or lack of voter registration. But because the ballot simply didn’t have the required 77,468 signatures, no such extension was granted, McGrew said.

The proposal would have required anyone 14 or older seeking public benefits from a state agency to sign an oath saying they live legally in the United States and would have punished those who falsely fill out an affidavit.

As expected, The US Department of Justice filed a lawsuit yesterday against Arizona’s darconian SB-1070, weeks before the law is scheduled to go into effect.

SB 1070 “is pre-empted by federal law and therefore violates the Supremacy Clause of the United States Constitution,” legal papers filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Phoenix contend. The lawsuit says the legislation conflicts with the federal government’s need to balance the competing interests of enforcing federal immigration law with the country’s diplomatic relations with other nations, including Mexico.
