Arizona Tea Party fav Sheriff Paul Babeu gives meaning to term "Tea Baggers"

Who woulda thunk it! That handsome hunk of man with the gold star, the shurf of Pinal County Arizona, Paul Babeu, well, turns out he has a little secret. A secret the right wingnuts of his county might not like. The darling of the Tea Party is gay! Give a new meaning to the term “Tea Baggers”! Now there is nothing wrong with being gay in my opinion, but in the case of Babeu, the hypocrisy of the man is astounding. Paul Babeu,  who pretends to be the face of the Arizona border security brouhaha nationally since he started stridently opposing illegal immigration and Mexicans in general,  threatened his Mexican ex-lover with deportation when the man refused to promise never to MORE

Broken Immigration Law leads to American citizens death

Aurora, Colorado (CNN) — Tania Nava has one piece of advice for anyone seeking to come out of the shadows and pursue a path to U.S. citizenship: don’t do it. She says her decision to become a legal citizen is one of the reasons her husband was murdered. “I should’ve stayed illegal this whole time,” the 21-year old widow said. “Jake would still be here.” Jake Reyes-Neal, an American citizen, had traveled to Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, last year to protect his wife as she waited for the long, complicated process to attain U.S. citizenship. Instead, Reyes-Neal — who had never been to Mexico and didn’t speak Spanish — became one of the thousands of homicide victims in Juarez as his MORE

9th Circuit finds California Prop. 8 UNCONSTITUTIONAL - Repub Candidates "outraged"

The US 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has declared California’s 2008 voter-approved ban on same-sex marriage, known as Prop 8, unconstitutional, concluding that the prohibition served no purpose other than to “lessen the status and human dignity of gays and lesbians.” The 2-1 ruling was narrowly written to limit its scope to California’s borders and possibly even avoid review by the U.S. Supreme Court, although homophobes and others who objected to the ruling vowed to appeal it to the Supremes. Gay rights and other human rights advocates, including Immigration Clearinghouse, applauded the historic ruling. Judge Stephen Reinhardt writing for the court said, “Proposition 8 operates with no apparent purpose but to impose on gays and lesbians, through the public law, MORE

ALIPAC President William Gheen demands FBI protect him from Google and others "out to get me"

Once again, ALIPAC President William Gheen’s paranoia is getting the better of him, this time accusing Google Inc., some of it’s employees and other persons unknown of conspiring to restrict his 1st Amendment rights to display his hate speech on Youtube. And, he is demanding that the FBI and Congress get involved. Gheen wants – “all members of the media and activist supporters are asked to report and distribute this information which will serve as a warning to others.”  We’ll help Willy out this one time as we watch his hateful little group of nativists and bigots slip further into obscurity. According to Gheen. Google Inc. gave an illegal immigration supporting activist access to the popular YouTube account of the MORE

Education excellence in Arizona - School kids pose with bullet riddled image of President Obama

Why am I not surprised at this, from a state who has a shrewish wingnut for a Governor, a Neo-Nazi wanting to be Sheriff of Pinal County and a flaccid ass fool for a Sheriff in Maricopa County who has one foot in the Federal pen and the other on a banana peel! Stephen Lemons, the respected columnist at Phoenix New Times reports on a photo that appeared on the Facebook page of a sergeant in the Peoria (Az) Police Department, Pat Shearer. The photograph showed seven casually dressed young punks, four of whom clutched weapons and one of whom held up a T-shirt covered with small holes and gashes and bearing a likeness of Mr. Obama above the word MORE

Arizona Gov Jan Brewer shows her lack of class in airport confrontation with President Obama

She’s a joke and an embarrassment to the great State of Arizona. Jan Brewer, Arizona’s GED bearing governor greeted President Barack  Obama on the tarmac of  the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport with in your face anger and finger pointing in front of the assemblage of local mayors and other dignitaries. Looking like she was dressed for an afternoon at a local bar, Brewer tried to give the President a personal letter inviting him to take a tour of the border and to discuss Arizona’s mythical crime and illegal immigrant invasion. Perhaps she even wanted to show him some of the “headless corpses” she maintains turn up on a regular basis. We don’t know though because her office declined to release a copy, saying MORE

Four Lives Lost - The innocence and wrongful convictions of 4 Texas woman

San Antonio, Texas – In September 1994 allegations of aggravated sexual assault on a child were brought against Elizabeth Ramirez (19) and three of her friends – Anna Vasquez (19), Cassandra Rivera (19) and Kristie Mayhugh (21). The complainants in the case were nine-year-old V.L. and seven-year-old S.L., nieces of Elizabeth Ramirez. The girls claimed that on two successive days during a week-long visit with their aunt Elizabeth, she and her three friends held them down and sexually assaulted them. Elizabeth Ramirez was tried in February of 1997 and sentenced to 37-and-a-half years. In February of 1998 the other three women were tried together and sentenced to 15 years for the same alleged crimes. No physical or corroborating evidence was MORE

Good Immigration Policy, on Hold - Time for some good old fashion union busting!

Last summer the Obama administration announced an overdue change in the way it catches and deports illegal immigrants. The head of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, John Morton, said the agency would focus more heavily on deporting convicted criminals and other high-risk offenders, making noncriminals a lower priority. The new strategy did not extend forgiveness or legal status to any illegal immigrants. But it did promise to halt the deportations of many thousands of people — those with clean records and strong ties to the community and who posed no threat, including the elderly, military veterans, college students and parents of young children. Instead the agency would go after convicted criminals, gang members, those who had repeatedly crossed the border illegally MORE

SMACKDOWN - Efforts to repeal California DREAM ACT fails

It’s been a bad week for California Assemblyman Tim Donnelly (R-San Bernadino), the only tea bagger, Minuteman border vigilante and white nationalist currently in the California Assembly. The LA TIMES reported anti-immigrant factions reported Friday that they were unable to obtain the needed 500,000 petition signatures to ask voters to repeal the California Dream Act. The two-part measure, which allows undocumented immigrants access to both public and private financial aid at UC and Cal State campuses and at community colleges, was signed into law last year by Gov. Jerry Brown. Donnelly, in an email to supporters, said the failure was,  ”disappointing news.” Two days earlier,  Donnelly, a vociferous gun advocate was arrested at the Ontario International airport for trying to take a loaded handgun MORE
