IMMIGRATION CLEARINGHOUSE supports and endorses Sheriff Arpaio in his quest to unseat Governor Jan Brewer.
Republican Party Chairman Randy Pullen said he has spoken with the Sheriff on several occasions about running for governor.
As recently as last week, Pullen said the Sheriff told him by phone that “he was just letting me know he was seriously considering it and he was meeting with his advisors and supporters to make a final decision, and that decision would be in very early May.”
Several high ranking sources within the Sheriff’s Department have told sources that all the necessary paperwork “has been filled out and is ready to file.”
Those same sources say Arpaio has been meeting with Republican power players for the last two weeks, and that several of the conversations focused on Arpaio running for governor.
In a press release from Arpaio’s campaign dated March 22, 2010, Chad Williams with Summit Consulting Group said “in just 12 months, Arpaio has raised $2 million from supporters in Arizona and around the country.”
If the Sheriff is going to run, he has to announce soon so he can start collecting the necessary signatures to file for the primary election. That filing deadline is May 26th.
Immigration Clearinghouse hopes he does run. He’ll have to resign to do so, and the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors will get to appoint a replacement.
That means Maricopa County will get a new sheriff almost immediately, and Arpaio’s sweeps of the Hispanic community will end. Also, whatever incriminating documents that haven’t been shredded over at MCSO headquarters may be opened up to the feds by Joe’s successor.
And the feds, I hear, are looking to indict Joe and his henchmen, such as Chief Deputy David Hendershott through a federal grand jury now probing Arpaio’s regime for corruption and abuse of power. The opening up of his files, or what’s left of them, and unfettered access to the MCSO in general would be a boon to, say, the FBI.
And let’s not forget Sheriff Joes close ties to the neo nazi’s and other white nationalist boot lickers, such as JT Ready, and association Sheriff Joe has never bothered to deny.
The crackers in Maricopa County and Arizona as a whole must be peeing themselves with joy.
