Minuteman Jim Gilchrist takes a break to honor convicted felon Jose Compean
Assemblyman Joel Anderson, 77th District (Ca), is giving Compean an Accommodation for his service and attached is a copy of the last letter the Assemblyman wrote to George Bush asking him to pardon or commute the Agent's sentences.
It is truly shameful, that in America today, liars and cowards, such as Ramos and Compean are, are hailed as heroes and Patriots.
In the words of Jim Gilchrist, leader of the Minuteman Project and close associate of indicted Minuteman child killer Shawna Forde;
The hosted the celebration of a real American Hero, Agent Jose Compean and his family. Jose Compean stood on his honor at time when he was asked to tell a lie and take what appeared to be the easy way out. Agent Compean and Agent Ramos demonstrated their loyalty to God, their families and the American citizens by not taking the deal to secure their freedom.
What Gilchrist is apparently referring to is Ramos and Compean’s decision to refuse the 18 month plea deal offered by the prosecution in exchange for a plea of guilty.
There was nothing honorable about the refusal. Their ego thought, and I’m sure with the help of father in law Joe Loya, who attempted to have this case played out in the media (and for which he was admonished by the trial judge), would result in a dismissal of charges or at the very least, and acquittal. How wrong they were, but the extremist right continues to portray these two criminals as heroes.
Gilchrist goes on to make mention of remarks made when Compean gave his little speech. And with Compean’s attitude, it is apparent, he show’s no remorse for his criminal activities.
An interesting piece of information came out at the dinner tonight when Agent Compean spoke, he said there are people that don’t understand the lies the federal attorney and others said about him and Agent Ramos that cost them their freedom, and pulled their families apart.
What lies did the Federal Attorney tell? Before the trial, the Office of Inspector General-Department of Homeland Security, released their investigative report on the Ramos and Compean case.
Offices of Inspector Generals are wholly independent agencies that answer only to Congress and they investigate and report the facts.
Based on this report, Ramos and Compean were fired from the BP, tried and convicted by a pro law enforcement jury of their peers!
Not heroes, not patriots, just a couple of stupid bastards that thought they could get away with attempted murder.
