With all the hoopla surrounding Shawna Forde and her claims of doing “operations on the border” and “investigating the drug cartels”, I’ve been looking around at these groups who President Bush rightfully labeled “Border Vigilantes”. I am astounded these fools have not caused an international incident.
Chris Simcox’s Minutemen Civil Defense Corps list their mission as;
It is the mission of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps to see the borders and coastal boundaries of the United States secured against the unlawful and unauthorized entry of all individuals, contraband, and foreign military. We will employ all means of civil protest, demonstration, and political lobbying to accomplish this goal.
Fair enough, especially the last sentence.
Jim Gilchrist, on his site states;
Operating within the law to support enforcement of the law
Again a noble statement.
Now, we come to the organization that Shawna Forde established, 14 strong, the Minutemen American Defense. We can’t really find a “Mission Statement” other than this little “ditty”;
To secure the U.S. Borders, Coastal boundaries and constitution against unlawful and unauthorized entry by all individuals, contraband and foreign military. To also increase the awareness of the
devastation caused by illegal immigration to our state and country
There is a small problem with this. They do not have Constitutional authority to act in the manner they do. As one of the leaders of Washington Minutemen pointed out the other day, this 14 member cell do nothing more than pose for pictures and play GI Joe and Jane.
They increase the “awareness by pushing totally debunked theories and posting photos of alleged “rape trees” and tons of “luggage” allegedly left by illegals?
Strange thing is, down here in Texas, these things have never surfaced. But then again, most property owners along the border don’t allow these vigilantes on their property. We don’t want them nor need them.
In Fordes interview on internet radio the other night, she alluded to various “weapons available to their group once in Arizona. Others, such as Hal Washburn, CO of the Washington Chapter of the MCDC along with Joe Roy of the same organization stated that handguns were allowed, although taking one out of the holster or having a round chambered, means immediate expulsion from the area. That seems like a wise policy.
Perhaps it true for some of the more grounded groups, but what about Forde?
Jim Gilchrist praised Forde and her band of 14 in a post on his website recently.
Operating Recon In “The War Zone”
Hard work pays off in this area. M.A.D. Minutemen were working with Allied Recon October and November 2008. This is the place where one of our scouts took on sniper fire after our driver spotted fresh tracks.
Some drug loads made it through, but with the assistance of American citizens and recon mission’s”light is being shed” we made a difference for America.
We were working heavy surveillance in this area for those two months along with another highly trained recon team.
Separate mission but one goal.
MAD was operating recon in “the war zone” Investigating Drug Cartel and trafficking.
Jim Gilchrists own words!
What did they find?
Well, according to Forde, posted HERE
Well see some hard work pays off this is the area MAD was working with Allied Recon October and November 2008. This is the place where one of our scouts took on snipper fire after our driver spotted fresh tracks.
This is nothing however as to what has made it through, but with the assistance of American citizens and recon mission’s “light is being shed.”
We were working heavey survellience in this area for those two months along with another highly trained recon team. seperate mission but one goal.
MAD was operating recon in “the war zone” Investigating Drug Cartel and trafficing.
(Snipper fire? Somebody attack them with scissors? The spelling is atrocious)
And what did these “border warriors find? According to Forde’s website, “click here for news release Taking credit for the Border Patrols work.
But again, As Hal Washburn, CO of the Washington Chapter of the MCDC stated when asked about Shawnochios antics on the border and those of her pals.
I know Shawna Forde well and was the one who sent her her termination letter from the MCDC in February 2007. The reason was irregularities in fundraising and her polarizing personality, her ability to pit people against people. She is a remarkable person for telling stories (flasehoods)……..
I would take what she said, not with a grain of salt, but with two pounds of salt………………….
She also pushed a confrontational agenda, ignoring the group’s practice of leaving it up to law officers to investigate illegal conduct,
Forde posted this “operational order
online. It shows her level of education in the spellings.
So the Minutemen are a non confrontational group. How do they explain these photos posted on their websites? This is “Operation Allied Recon”
Looks like automatic weapons to me! Anyone care to bet some of them have perhaps been modified?
Sniper fire? The backfire of an ATV on a warm fall evening or an excuse to start an international incident. (ATF take note)
Chris Simcox and Jim Gilchrist groups were started with noble ideas and deserve the title “Viagra Vigilantes”. For the most part, they are non confrontational, and basically harmless.
But Forde has aligned herself and her gang of 14 with some of the more radical element,some like Jeff Schwilk psycho founder of the San Diego Minutemen. Schwilk seems to enjoy face to face or car to human confrontation as seen on some of the videos on our site. (Black Nissan Mirano)
What is the connection between Forde’s little gang and SDDM? From what we can tell, the person responsible for both of her websites is also the webmaster for SDDM. Some clown that calls himself Arizona Patriot
So while the more established vigilantes sit on the border in their lawn chairs having a geriatric “tea party” and recall their “glory days”, the rest appear to be violating Federal firearms laws.
I doubt if they are finding much in their “investigations” of the drug cartels, other than what they make up in their own minds, taking credit for the work of DHS, but they do present a clear and present danger on our southern border.
What do you think?
