Criminals ruled the day as a gathering of hate groups and extremists paid honor to a convicted felon at Camp Vigilence in Campo California.

From the decidedly extremist views of the EXAMINER.com, comes this story of another of the former Border Patrol Agents and convicted felons, Ignacio “Nacho” Ramos.

Again, as with his partner in crime Jose Compean, there is no remorse.

As usual, they’re painting this convicted criminal as a hero and a “Patriot”, which is a slap in the face for those who served in the US military. But then, we have to consider the source.

Ignacio Ramos, along with his partner Jose Compean, were convicted of shooting an unarmed, unknown (at the time) man in the back, failing to report the discharge of their weapons to their superiors, and sanitizing the shooting scene by policing all spent rounds. They tried to get other BP agents involved in covering up their crimes but were eventually discovered by an agent of the Border Patrols internal affairs office.

Ignacio Ramos, whose name has been at the forefront of the effort to have his actions excuses, is blessed, or cursed, depending on your point of view, with a father in law, Joe Loya of El Paso, who chose to play this case in the court of public opinion, instead of letting the law run it’s course.

But examiner.com put the extremist spin on the story which really has nothing to do with the truth of the matter.

This drama turned into a horror story of injustices for the border patrol agents. Their convictions for wounding a known-Mexican drug dealer trying to peddle hundreds of pounds of marijuana, led a nation straight to the White House; President Bush commuted their sentences as the he left office this year.

Why the Texas D.A.s office would prosecute the border patrol agents for doing their job is anyone’s guess, however, Romos refuses to let a few bad apples change his love for this country.

You see, there was no injustices for these two felons. Had they reported the discharge of weapons, as BP procedures dictate, they would be on the job today. The convictions weren’t for “wounding” an unknown man but for lying and covering it up. And at the time, the “drug dealer” was not known to them, nor was there any evidence he was “trying to peddle hundreds of pounds of ganja”. Truth of the matter is, Aldrete-Davila, crossed the Rio Bravo on foot only to drive a van, which was pre-loaded and in the US, to a stash house in the El Paso area. This was not known when Ramos and Compean decided to become judge, jury and executioner for the crime of “illegal entry”, a civil misdemeanor.

And again, the writer for examiner.com continues to get her facts skewed. There was no “Texas DA” involved in the prosecution of these two stooges. It was done on the Federal level.

Ignacio Ramos and family still show no regrets nor remorse

In Ramos’ own words, he wants to clear his name and go back to the Border Patrol, something that doesn’t have a snow balls chance in hell of happening.

U.S. Border Patrol headquarters have send out a memo explaining to all agents that they are not to talk to Ramos and Compeon because they are convicted felons

The Border Patrol actually gets it!

And in their hometown of El Paso, this family is pariahs.

Since being released from prison the Ramos family has had to rely on friends and family to get by. Life in El Paso was tough on the family and as a result the Ramos family has moved to the Houston area.

Even though they received a fair trial by a jury of their peers, in a town that is very pro law enforcement, the Loya/Ramos clan still refuses to accept the verdict of 12 citizens, tried and true, and the opinion of the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals which upheld their conviction, with one small insignificant change.

Moving forward Ramos looks to clearing his name. He and his family have decided to request a new trial and reverse the conviction. However, a new trial comes with more risks. There is always the chance that the government will try to file additional charges against Ramos.

The mere thought of more prison time would be enough to deter the average person, but not the Ramos family. His wife, Monica says, “Things could be difficult again, but our main goal is to vacate the charges. We are optimistic that the new developments we have will end up in our favor.”

This type of courage is typical for the Ramos family who remains grateful and always wants to seek the truth. This doesn’t mean Ramos and his family aren’t worried…….

The government prosecutors have changed the original charges several times. “They superseded the indictments three times and kept adding charges in order to break us and force us into a plea agreement. It makes me wonder what they might try to add now,” Ramos said.

The Texas indictments came from promiscuous prosecutors who over-zealously interpreted the law into the criminal-illegal alien’s favor, according to the Ramos family.

There is no evidence to support the claim that the charges were changed several times. They were tried on the charges brought forth in the indictments.

So we’ll continue to hear, I guess, how the right wing extremist in this country view these two criminals as heroes, not because they did anything heroic, but because they shot an unarmed Mexican in the back and lied about it in an attempt to save their ass..

This heroes welcome occurred on the 4th of July at Camp Vigilence close to Campo California, the enclave of Ca-Minutemen Civil Defense Corps. You might recall in recent weeks, that MCDC and other vigilante organizations have been closely tied to Minuteman executive director and child killer Shawna Forde.

I guess that shows us what the rights idea of patriotism is! This was a regular hate fest with well known nativists, xenophobes and whackos as honored guests and speakers.
