Saturday night look at the blogs

Pro-Blogosphere on July 11th, 2009 3 Comments

Another Saturday night finds me too exhausted to leave the house, so let’s take a look at what’s happening around the blogosphere.

LONG ISLAND WINS

Looks like I’m not the only one with nothing to do today. Patrick has done an excellent job of keeping us up to date concerning the murder of 9 yo Brisenia Flores, by Minuteman leader Shawna Forde.

He is also reporting on Sheriff Joe Arpaios arrogance in opposing Secretary Napolitano’s new rules for participating in the 287(g) program

IMMIGRATION TALK WITH A MEXICAN AMERICAN

Our friend Dee has been busy this week. I don’t know how she finds the time to put out the excellent investigative articles that she does. Let’s take a look, shall we?

Out of the gate running, she hit on the news that Bobby Jindal’s pick for President of the Young Republicans, Audra Shay, was ass deep in agreement with a vile extremist Minnesota Minuteman by the name of Erik Pike.

What was the controversy?

Pike called President Obama, Washington and others “mad coons and illeegals.” Shay responded “You Tell Em Eric! LOL!” Then Pike, who said he was a good ole southern boy, complained about his lack of freedom of speech and said “if yur ass is black don’t let the sun set on it in a southern town.”

Naughty naughty Audra. Two commenters then chastised Pike and Shay for their comments. Shay responded by removing them as friends. Then, as the blogosphere took hold of the story, Shay attempted to back away from the comments. More than 36 hours after the comments were first posted, Shay released a statement condemning their “disgusting” content, which she said she was “not aware of” when she posted her response. She also deleted her facebook page/comments, however, not before some viewers obtained screenshots.

Toward the end of the week, Dee received some more revealing emails from her mole inside the Minuteman movement. These idiots crack me up, especially the psychotic crossdressing leader of the San Diego Minutemen, Jeff Schwilk.

Oh, by the way Jeffrey. Dee Scott-Perez is in no way associated with this website in the manner you suggest in your nasty little email. You need to get the facts straight or loosen your delicate little girly drawers so your brain can get some oxygen.

THE UNAPOLGETIC MEXICAN

Nezua, like most of us, refuse to let the truth about the murders of Brisenia Flores and her father Raul, by child killer and Minutman leader Shawna Forde, be forgotten or buried from the eyes of the American public. Besides, being an excellent graphic artist, Nezua is a true wordsmith, part of a dying breed.

Nezua reports on the infighting going on between the extremist right wing border vigilantes and groups such as William Gheen’s ALIPAC, a group who sits on their asses, making derogatory and vile comments against Hispanics, and opening their wallets, every time “Weird Willy” sings the blues.

THE ANTI-IMMIGRANT/Anti-Mexican/Anti-Latino/Anti-Reason crowd was holding down the Sane and Well-Meaning façade more or less okay…until one of their own pushed it a little too far and went on a little murder spree against a Mexican American family. Now? The façade falls a bit more. Now the naked, grimy cheekbones jut out.

THE MEXFILES

Rich at the Mexfiles covered the mid term elections in Mexico spot on. I was hoping to but got sidelined with other issues. Search his site, about page 3 or so to read his expert opinion.

LATINALISTA

This site take a look at the upcoming confirmation hearings for Obama’s first Supreme Court pick, Sonia Sotomeyor, who we believe to be imminently qualified, as do her peers who have rated her “well qualified” to assume the position of Associate Judge on SCOTUS. This article also explains why she is qualified for the position.

Of course all the anti immigrant sites, the extremist and supremist sites are frantic to derail the nomination of this woman, but I doubt with people like Latinalista in her corner, they have much of a chance.

And hey! We just found the ultimate in stupidity, and it involves the Boy Scouts. Explorer scout training to fight terrorism and border violence borders on overkill Just what we need. Kiddies thinking they’re GI Joey on the border, with all the wannabe rambos, viagra vigilantes and other domestic terrorists. Good job to LL for digging this up.

These scouts are being put through regular drills simulating situations that feature how to confront suicide bombers, chase down undocumented immigrants and how to “take out” active shooters.

The kids love it and who can blame them? They have the chance to act out their favorite video game and action movie scenarios without the risk of real bloodshed. Yet, while simulation and practice allow professionals to prepare for a potentially immediate threat, handing compressed-air guns to teens and telling them time and time again to pretend they’re in a life-threatening situation borders on programming these kids to react in a certain way that calls for a violent response rather than critically evaluating any given situation.

TAMALE CHICA CHRONICLES

I like that name. (reminds me of several of several of my girlfriends) introduces us to the National Museum of Mexican Art.

Check out her post on the museum where she has photos posted of some of the wonderful pieces on display there

How about forgetting about the silly ass “attrition through enforcement” and working for a common sense solution?

Immigration has been cyclical since the 1940’s, and has never really been a problem until the talking heads, aryans and others, used it to push their own agendas and fill their bank accounts, on the backs of the people apathy and stupidity!

  2. Chaos says:

How about Comprehensive Immigration Enforcement instead of Comprehensive Immigration Reform?
