Minuteman child killer, Shawna Forde, who is charged with murdering Arivaca resident Raul Flores Jr. and his 9-year-old daughter Brisenia, has a new lawyer.
Last month, Judge John Leonardo assigned Eric Larsen to represent Forde after Assistant Pima County Public Defender Darlene Edminson-O’Brien revealed, in court documents, that her office represents some witnesses in the case, creating a conflict of interest.
Edminson-O’Brien said the office is representing Oin Oakstar, who has been investigated in connection with the case and Georgina Sue Moraga, who was seen with Forde and Albert Gaxiola shortly after the slayings.
Lastly, Edminson-O’Brien said in court documents that the office is representing Alfred Gastellum, who “may have been in possession of a gun related to the present offense.”
Larsen has a contract with Pima County to represent defendants in which conflicts of interest arise and defendants in multiple defendant cases.
We’d heard rumors of this, but it had nothing to do with a conflict of interest. I imagine it is difficult to find a competent attorney to defend a child killer.
