White Supremacists Promote ALIPAC and Take Action on its Behalf

Perhaps more relevant today than when it was published on May 26, 2009: As many anti-immigrant groups blur the line between discussions of immigration policy and outright bigotry towards non-white immigrants, white supremacists and anti-Semites have become increasingly supportive of those groups whose rhetoric matches their own anti-immigrant sentiment. Extremists exploit the legitimacy of these anti-immigrant groups to advance their own hateful ideology and possibly expand recruitment.

 
DOJ lawsuit filed against Arizona & SB-1070 sets the stage for milestone ruling

As expected, The US Department of Justice filed a lawsuit yesterday against Arizona’s darconian SB-1070, weeks before the law is scheduled to go into effect. SB 1070 “is pre-empted by federal law and therefore violates the Supremacy Clause of the United States Constitution,” legal papers filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Phoenix contend. The lawsuit says the legislation conflicts with the federal government’s need to balance the competing interests of enforcing federal immigration law with the country’s diplomatic relations with other nations, including Mexico.

The Anti-Defamation League has a new report out on anti-immigration nutbars entitled, “Immigrants Targeted: Extremist Rhetoric Moves into the Mainstream.” Naturally, AZ was well-represented, with Rascist Minuteman Chris Simcox and Rusty Childress’ United for a Sovereign America getting mentions, and urban cougar Michelle Dallacroce scoring a whole section to herself.
