Economic Boycott of Arizona to continue despite defeat of Anti Mexican legislation pushed by Russell Pearce

Arizona human rights group Puente, and activist Sal Reza issued a press release today indicating that they will continue to stand behind the successful  economic boycott against Arizona business until the draconian anti Hispanic SB-1070 is consigned to the trash heap of history, along with it’s author, Senator Russell Pearce. The press release states: “The Boycott will intensify and continue until SB1070 and other anti-migrant laws are repealed.” Said Raul Cordero. Raul has been actively boycotting business associated with financing anti-migrant legislators in their election and reelection bids. “These legislators have taken Arizona to the brink of disaster causing major economic losses with their anti-human campaigns against workers and law abiding residents of Arizona.” Concluded Isabel Garcia from Tucson There have MORE

ALIPAC and William Gheen Exposed

For several years now, Immigration Clearinghouse has been diligently working to expose the hypocrisy and fraud of ALIPAC and it’s president, William Gheen, and with some success. Now, comes an expose’ from the extreme right that validates every single thing we’ve ever said about William Gheen and ALIPAC. Dan “Digger” Amato, publisher of DIGGERS REALM, a website about as far to the right as you can get, and a former friend of William Gheen, lays out the events surrounding the dissension of the rallies planned for next month in Phoenix. It’s quite a story, and despite our ideological differences, I sense the man is telling the truth.

From California to New Yorks Long Island and from Chicago to Miami, hundreds of thousands to to the streets to show support for immediate immigration reform and their opposition to Arizona’s SB-1070, America’s version of apartheid. In Los Angeles, Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck estimated that about 50,000 immigration rights activists participated in Saturday’s May Day rally. “All this was an estimate,” Beck said when asked about the department’s earlier projection. “These are educated guesses. We were unable to tell what the event in Arizona would do, so we estimated 100,000 people.”] Only one arrested was reported for a minor vandalism incident. “The event was peaceful,” Beck said. “Everyone who came out here was peaceful,” Beck said. “Everyone got MORE

“Thinking about traveling to Arizona anytime soon? We’ve got a better idea: Stay home,” says Maryann Sinclair Slutsky, director of Long Island Wins. Port Washington, N.Y.–In light of a recently passed anti-immigrant bill in Arizona—which will force immigrants to carry documentation of their immigration status at all times, and invite racial profiling by police—Long Island Wins is joining a nationwide call for a boycott of the state’s goods, services, and tourism. “The boycott isn’t just punishment for a piece of legislation that tramples on the civil rights of Arizona residents,” said Maryann Sinclair Slutsky. “It’s for everyone’s own safety.” On Friday, Republican Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signed SB 1070 into law, authorizing the farthest-reaching anti-immigrant legislation ever passed by a MORE
