Hypocrisy at it's finest - Gilchrist calls in the hated ACLU in his defense

As we posted yesterday, Jim Gilchrist, founder of the border vigilante group Minuteman Project, finds himself in the center of a firestorm of protests against his invitation to participate in a debate at University of Reno-Nevada. And as he did against Kyle de Beausset, Harvard undergraduate and publisher of CITIZEN ORANGE, Gilchrist is on the attack against the students and faculty of UNR and ASUN, who oppose his appearance. In a reply to the above referenced article, Gilchrist wrote:

Marcelo Lucero & Suffolk County New York - A year later

November 8, 2008. A young Ecuadorian, walking with a friend after a day of work, looking forward to a cold beer and TV with friends, is confronted by a gang of young punks, out for a night of “beaner bashing”.  Something they do for the “sport of it”, several times a week. Jeffrey Conroy, Jordan Dasch, Anthony Hartford, Nicholas Hausch, Christopher Overton, Jose Pacheco and Kevin Shea, all between the ages of 16 and 17 all Patchogue-Medford High School students. The young punks had attacked before. They went out a dozens of times  a year hunting Latinos, harassing them, shooting them with pellets, beating them. The others took the beatings and survived. Marcello Lucero did not. Marcelo Lucero, 38, who MORE

Jim Gilchrist and Shawna Forde: Let's Look At The Record

As Jim Gilchrist of the Minuteman Project continues to scurry around, denying and defending the indefensible, our friends at Long Island Wins are on point with this essay. From Pat Young at LIW:

In a new expose’ No boundaries: Shawna Forde and the Minutemen movement investigative reporter Scott North reveals more details of Minuteman child killer Shawna Forde’s undeniable ties to the mainstream Minuteman movement, connections that that Jim Gilchrist and others continue to deny. Forde, 41, along with her cohorts, Jason E. “Gunny” Bush and Albert Gaxiola are under indictment for the home invasion robbery and murder of 9 year old Brisenia Flores, her father Raul, and the wounding of the wife and mother, Gina. They face the death penalty, when convicted. You might recall that earlier this year, Forde came to our attention with her outrageous claims of being raped in her home by members of the MS-13 gang. She posted MORE

Justice delayed is justice denied for Brisenia Flores

It appears that Minuteman Shawna Forde and her co-defendants won’t be held accountable anytime soon for their actions on the night of May 30, if their defense lawyers have their way about it. In Pima County Superior Court Tuesday, attorneys for Minuteman Shawna Forde, 41, Albert Robert Gaxiola, 42, and Jason Eugene Bush, 35, told Judge John Leonardo that they believe the facts of the case necessitate separate trials. Bush and Gaxiola were brought before Leonardo to discuss possible trial dates; Forde refused to be brought to court from the Pima County jail. Judge Leonardo scheduled a Nov. 23 court date to discuss severing the cases. He also indicated that if the cases are separated, the first trial would likely MORE

Was there a 4th man involved in the murder of 9 yo Brisenia Flores?

That’s the question being asked by the supporters of Minuteman child killer Shawna Forde, on the pathetic little website Justice for Shawna Forde. They’re trying to absolve Forde of any culpability in the murder of Brisenia Flores and her father by suggesting there was a “4th man” involved. There probably was a fourth or a fifth person involved, but the fact remains, evidence shows that Jason “Gunny” Bush was wounded in the exchange of gunfire between himself and the mother Gina. And evidence shows, overwhelmingly, that Forde was the de facto leader of this little band of murdering Minutemen. But hey! Laine Lawless, who established this disgusting website in defense of Forde wants everyone to call with “tips” that will MORE

CROSS POSTED FROM Immigration Talk with a Mexican American We’ve all known a “Big Talker” with delusions of grandeur who talks about the famous people they know and how important they are. In the above video taped last February by Scott North from heraldnet daily, Shawna Forde talks about the “covert operations” into drug cartels she and other minutemen are involved with and her contacts with CIA Operatives.

Border Action Network scores big win against Minutemen and other vigilante groups

Inter-American Commission Takes on Human Rights Case Against U.S. for Not Prosecuting Border Vigilante Groups Residents of Douglas, Arizona recall Minutemen driving through their small downtown area randomly asking people walking down the street if they had “papers.” Since those early days of border vigilante groups patrolling the border and border towns, harassment and racial profiling has continued. Currently, a Minuteman member faces charges for murdering an Arivaca, Arizona man and his child this summer. The Border Action Network, an Arizona-based human rights organization, believes that the U.S. government should be held to task for turning a blind eye to the groups. “Anti-immigrant vigilantism continues to plague Arizona and the border region,” explains Jennifer Allen, Border Action’s Executive Director. “We MORE

Some interesting facts about Shawna Forde's future home

Here are some interesting facts about Pima County and Arizona’s Death Row, which is potentially Minuteman child killer Shawna Fordes future home. There are 119 people on death row and two of them are women. As you might expect, Pima County has the second highest number of inmates on death row. Maricopa County has 66 on death row, Pima County 25 and Mohave County 8. Arizona’s last execution was in May 2007. The defendant’s name was Robert Comer. Since 1937, the average length of stay on death row is 12 years. Pima County is seeking the death penalty for at least twelve other people aside from Christopher Payne at the moment. They are: Ruben Archunde, Nick Delich, Marco Chavez, Marco MORE

Shawna Forde has new attorney

Minuteman child killer, Shawna Forde, who is charged with murdering Arivaca resident Raul Flores Jr. and his 9-year-old daughter Brisenia, has a new lawyer. Last month, Judge John Leonardo assigned Eric Larsen to represent Forde after Assistant Pima County Public Defender Darlene Edminson-O’Brien revealed, in court documents, that her office represents some witnesses in the case, creating a conflict of interest. Edminson-O’Brien said the office is representing Oin Oakstar, who has been investigated in connection with the case and Georgina Sue Moraga, who was seen with Forde and Albert Gaxiola shortly after the slayings.
