Minutemen reinventing themselves as "Tea Bagger Patriots"

Since the murderous antics of Minuteman leader Shawna Forde put the onus on other Minuteman groups and sent them scurrying for cover and deniability and exposed their vigilante agenda, what has happened to the various Minuteman factions and other so-called “Patriots” of the border vigilante movement? According to David Holthouse, an investigative reporter for Media Matters and our friend Dee Perez-Scott, publisher of the blog Immigration Talk with a Mexican American, they have infiltrated the Tea Party movement looking for legitimacy. From PNT You would think that an old, Mexican-bashing coot like Glenn Spencer, the head of the nativist “organization” American Border Patrol, would be radioactive to any politician with a lick of sense, after all of the dumb, bigoted statements he’s made over the years. New motions filed in Minuteman Shawna Forde murder case

Eric Larsen, defense attorney for Minuteman Shawna Forde, mastermind in the murder of 9 year old Brisenia Flores, has asked Judge John Leonardo to exclude a number of pieces of evidence from her trial next year. Larsen is trying to keep the jury from knowing of accusations that Forde burglarized her brother’s home in Redding California after the murder and that she also invaded the home of her mother’s best friend. Although witnesses and cell phone records put Forde at the scene of those crime as well as codefendent Jason Bush, Larsen points out that Forde’s never been arrested in those cases and claims there’s no direct evidence linking her to those crimes.
