Arizona Senate candidate Jim Deakin responded to ALIPAC President William Gheen’s demands that he drop out of the primary race and throw his support behind former corrupt Congressman JD Hayworth.
Mr. Deakin’s response:
The campaign for Conservative Tea Party candidate Jim Deakin responded to a letter suggesting he withdraw from the US Senatorial race. The request, in support of the Hayworth campaign comes at a time when Hayworth is losing significant support, the Deakin campaign noted.It is obvious the Hayworth camp is grasping for any help they can muster. But it may be too late and time for Hayworth supporters to realize the real candidate with the best shot to beat the incumbent is Jim Deakin. That being said, those who have supported the incumbent in spite of Hayworth now know there is another choice.
We therefore ask any supporters of either Senatorial opponents to carefully consider their options” the campaign added.
The letter in question took veiled liberties and distortions and is leaning heavily on scare tactics and overblown endorsements.
“We feel this letter is a last-minute, desperate grasp by Mr. Gheen and ALIPAC to distort my candidacy and legitimacy. Stating that “American’s” ask Jim Deakin not to do something is ludicrous. Jim Deakin has plenty of Americans who will support and stand with him as well. Maybe we should state that “Americans Back Deakin for US Senate” the campaign stated.

Senate dark horse candidate Jim Deakin responded to ALIPAC President William Gheen "strong suggestion" that he drop from the race by refusing to do so. As expected, Gheen goes on the attack.
Once again, discredited ALIPAC President William Gheen is in the news. This time, trying to force political newcomer Jim Deakin, running against Arizona Senator John McCain and former Congressman JD Hayworth, whose time in Congress was marred by his association with the corruption of lobbyist Jack Abramoff, out of the race for McCain’s Senate seat.
This morning, Willy released another of his sophomoric press releases calling on Deakin to step down so Gheen’s candidate, the corrupt JD Hayworth might have a chance of besting McCain in the upcoming primaries.
“Unfortunately, Mr. Deakin’s continued candidacy has a strong chance of handing the election to John McCain, yet he has almost no significant chance of winning the race according to numerous polls and historical election models,” said “Whining”Willy Gheen of Americans for Legal Immigration.

Phoenix New Times is reporting former minuteman leader and ex, self-described “senior advisor” for J.D. Hayworth’s U.S. Senate campaign Chris Simcox allegedly threatened to kill his wife and family according to a petition for an order of protection filed by his estranged spouse Alena Simcox.
A Maricopa County court commissioner granted the petition April 16, and ordered the 49 year-old Simcox to remain 200 yards away from Alena, their two children, and Alena’s child from a previous relationship. The order prohibits Simcox from possessing, receiving, or purchasing firearms or ammunition. He was told to “surrender same” to the Scottsdale police within 24 hours of being served.
Simcox, a close friend and confidant of ALIPAC President William Gheen seems to have a problem with guns and violence against woman and children.
