12 Zetas, 1 Marine killed in Falcon lake Gunbattle, but still no David Hartley nor his Jet Ski

Twelve suspected members of the Zetas drug gang and a member of Mexico’s Navy were killed in a shootout on an island in a lake that straddles the U.S.-Mexico border, authorities said Monday. The Mexican Navy said the shootout occurred Sunday on Falcon Lake, located between Texas and the Mexican state of Tamaulipas, after troops patrolling the area spotted a camping area on an island. The suspected drug traffickers used the island for storing marijuana to be transported by boat to the United States, the Navy said in a statement. After the shootout, the Navy said it seized guns, ammunition and bullet-proof vests from the island. Falcon Lake drew the attention of law enforcement authorities on both side of the MORE

New evidence emerges in David Hartley case? Only if you believe in the Easter Bunny

KRGV.com is reporting that witnesses have come forward six months after the disappearance and alleged murder by Los Zetas, of Coloradoan David Hartley, that claim to have heard gunshots on the lake at the time Tiffany Hartley alleges her husband was murdered. Zapata Sheriff Sigi Gonzalez an elderly couple (winter Texans) with a home near Falcon Lake heard the gunshots that killed David Hartley. That is a pretty powerful and provocative statement. They heard the shots that definitely killed David Hartley. (No body has ever been found. Many times I’ve spent the night in the area, peaceful and tranquil that it is, yet Gonzalez continues to maintain a scenario of a war zone, with bullets whizzing and gunfire at all MORE

Sheriff Sigi Gonzalez - 4 suspects identified in David Hartley Death

Since Tiffany Hartley decided to leave the limelight following her husbands disappearance on Falcon Lake in September, and her many contradictions and refusal to take a lie detector test, the story has largely disappeared, until now. And what’s more borrowing a line from Nancy Grace (BOMBSHELL TONIGHT), according to Sheriff Sigi, The shooters were under orders to kill Tiffany. From the interview with KGBT. “Other than what were doing locally, we don’t know of any other agency, state or federal agency, doing anything else,” he added. “It’s just MORE

The Falcon Lake Murder and Mexico's Drug Wars

This morning, STRATFOR, the Austin based think tank, released the above titled report to the public. We’re making it available here for you to decide what is and what isn’t. Keep in mind though that it is opinion, backed up by researched facts, although I personally, disagree with some of the conclusions made, based on my 15 years of living in Mexico and more than 30 years traveling the country. The conclusion that “Zetitias” were responsible for the alleged death of David Hartley is questionable as the question begs to be asked if the bosses in Cd.Miguel Aleman would cut kids loose on a lake unsupervised with automatic weapons. Perhaps, perhaps not. Another point we take issue with concerns Americans MORE

Falcon Lake Murder - A Convenient Conclusion

In the wake of the murder of one of the Mexican investigators, Rolando Armando Flores Villega, and an opinion from an Austin based think tank that offers the plausible but doubtful conclusion that the murder was a case of mistaken identity, Mexico announced today a suspension of the search for David Hartley’s body while they reevaluate their options. They gave no definite word as to when or if it would resume. “There is a recess,” Ruben Dario Rios Lopez, a spokesman for the state attorney general’s office in Tamaulipas, said Thursday. “We are going to look into new strategies between both U.S. and Mexican authorities in order to see what we can do, because up to now we have not been MORE

Those are Tiffany Hartley’s words as she begins a new round of media appearances after of a weekend of contradictions where it was reported that Mexican authorities had two suspects on their radar and then adamantly denied having ever made such a claim. The doubts of the veracity of her story are increasing, around the Rio Grande Valley, Texas and the rest of the country as this story unfolds. According to a San Antonio Express News article; Tiffany said she hoped a Texas Department of Public Safety video showing Tiffany and David getting stopped for an expired tag the morning of the incident, as well as a report that Border Patrol agents saw the couple at a Subway restaurant eating MORE
