Dec 03

s911_complete_moronIt was a day of reckoning for Lou Dobbs and his organization. Lots of hand wringing, tears falling freely and fear for the future as ALIPAC’s William Gheen announced he was dropping his support of Lou Dobbs and any future political ambitions the former CNN anchor might have.

Really? Not really. Only in Willy Gheen’s oversized ego fueled fantasies. If the truth be known, Lou Dobbs and his bunch breathed a sigh of relief knowing they wouldn’t be associated with this known group of bigoted xenophobes.

After Mr Dobbs gave Gheen a verbal ass whipping on his radio show Monday here’s how ALIPAC’s Weird Willy Gheen responds:

Lou Dobbs made a total fool out of ALIPAC's William Gheen on his radio show

Lou Dobbs made a total fool out of ALIPAC's William Gheen on his radio show

After a week of pissing and moaning about Lou Dobbs apparent shift in his views on immigration reform, ALIPAC’s William Gheen had his opportunity to talk to the big man on the radio yesterday.

To put it in a nutshell, it was funny. Gheen was outclassed from the moment he opened his mouth, spouting his anti-hispanic agenda.

Gheen’s position as always was deport them all. If legalization is granted, then the borders disappear and civil war erupts, because (and this was insinuated), we don’t want no dirty Mexicans here.

Dobbs, on the other hand, reiterated his long time position, one which I have heard, that he is for immigration reform, once the borders and ports are secure. Of course, what does he consider “secure”?

Nov 26

burro_shrekIt’s no great secret that William Gheen’s ALIPAC is a place where all opinions are welcome, as long as they are Dear Williams, and they don’t fall contrary to his own.

Take this example from the fall out over Lou Dobb’s unexpected revelation that he supports a common sense approach to immigration reform.

A “New Recruit” to ALICRAP made the mistake of stating his opinion of the hysteria of the lemmings:

Whining Willy sez "I am hurt, dismayed, angry, sad, exasperated, red faced, embarrassed, and more cuz I wanted to go to Washington wid Lou"

What began as another attempt by William Gheen of ALIPAC to ride another’s coat tails to glory, in this case, Lou Dobbs, has now turned into another pathetic attempt for attention, and another monumental failure.

On Monday, Willy allegedly received a call from a Fox News reporter who professed an interest in Gheen’s www.LouDobbsForPresident.org.  ”The world may be coming to see this site soon so you might want to visit and show your support”, Gheen said.

On a FOX NEWS interview, Dobbs said he isn’t ruling out a presidential run.

“What’s so crazy about that?” Dobbs quipped when asked about a possible presidential run. “It’s one of the discussions that we’re having.”

“For the first time, I’m actually listening to some people about, about politics,” he said. “We’ve got to do something in this country.”

For Willy Gheen, that’s all it took. Ego exploding from exposure on FOX NEWS twice in the same week, jumped the gun and announced it to his small group of lemmings, and plans were made to put Lou Dobbs in the White House.

The venerable and well respected Southern Poverty Law Center released this statement this morning on the departure of Lou Dobbs from CNN. We Concur.

Earlier this year, we called upon CNN to remove Lou Dobbs from the air for trading in falsehoods and racist conspiracy theories. Tonight we are glad that Dobbs has announced his departure from his influential position at CNN.

In his announcement, Dobbs complained that the public debate over important issues is now defined by “partisanship and ideology rather than rigorous empirical thought and forthright analysis and discussion.”

The truth is, Dobbs has done as much as anyone to poison the immigration debate by repeatedly reporting false information about immigrants. The most outrageous statement was his claim that immigrants were responsible for bringing thousands of new cases of leprosy to the United States during a recent three-year period. He also lent legitimacy to conspiracy theories, such as the claim that undocumented immigrants are part of a plot to reconquer the American Southwest. Most recently, he gave credence to the utterly baseless idea that President Obama is not a native-born American citizen.

Dobbs was certainly capable of fine journalism. But, as his ratings grew, he became a prisoner of the independent image he tried to cultivate, someone seemingly incapable of admitting a mistake. CNN should have asked him to resign long ago.

Lou Dobbs resigns from CNN

Lou Dobbs resigns from CNN

Lou Dobbs, controversial anchor of CNN’s Lou Dobbs tonight, who hitched his star to the rising tide of anti-immigrant hysteria, announced his immediate departure from the network last night.

In the world of business, being let out of a contract two years early amounts to being fired. Call it what you will, the man who gave a patina of legitimacy to hate groups like FAIR, NUMBERSUSA; who gave a platform for border vigilante groups and their leaders like Jim Gilchrist’s Minuteman Project, is off the air, for now.
