The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) is out with their new Year in Hate and Extremism 2010 review and it’s an eyeopener for most although not so much for those of us that follow these nativist hate groups. It ought to make William Gheen, President of the nativist extremist group Americans for Legal Immigration (ALIPAC) proud that he made the top of the list for groups in North Carolina alongside his buddies from NC FIRE. Maricopa County Superior Court Commissioner J. Justice McQuire continued “in full force”, the protective order granted to the estranged wife of Minuteman Civil Defense Corps founder and President Chris Simcox. “The court finds that conflicting testimony has been presented on every allegation and the court must make a determination of credibility. Defendant has a prior conviction involving dishonesty,” wrote Commissioner McQuire.

TPM reports that the man who owns a bounty hunting firm tracking Minuteman founder Chris Simcox is himself a former Minuteman, one who has personal beef with Simcox. Fugitive Recovery Services, is owned by former border vigilante Stacey O’Connell who was booted from the group after fighting with Simcox. O’Connell was once the director of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps’ Arizona chapter. He left in 2007 after accusing the Minutemen of misusing and hiding finances, and he has called for a criminal investigation O’Connell said Simcox’s ex-wife hired him. Deputies with the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office responded Friday morning to the area of Parker Canyon located near Rio Rico Arizona for a group of illegal immigrants who were shot at. Sheriff Tony Estrada says that deputies received the call around 9:30 a.m. from the group who said they were shot at by 2 men wearing camouflage and using high-powered rifles. One of the 5 illegal immigrants was shot in the forearm and treated at an area hospital for his wounds. Phoenix New Times is reporting former minuteman leader and ex, self-described “senior advisor” for J.D. Hayworth’s U.S. Senate campaign Chris Simcox allegedly threatened to kill his wife and family according to a petition for an order of protection filed by his estranged spouse Alena Simcox. A Maricopa County court commissioner granted the petition April 16, and ordered the 49 year-old Simcox to remain 200 yards away from Alena, their two children, and Alena’s child from a previous relationship. Just when you thought you’d seen it all, KXO Radio is reporting that U.S. Customs and Border Protection is offering a $250,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the death of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Robert Rosas , who was killed in the line of duty July 23, 2009 near Campo , California. “CBP offers this reward to encourage anyone with information on the murder of Agent Rosas to come forward and share this information with the FBI, ” said CBP Acting Commisioner Jayson P.
