It seems Sheriff Joe, the flaccid gendarme of Maricopa County Arizona is getting the publicity he crave in a manner he detests, and many hope this is the opening salvo to Arpaio’s demise. If it doesn’t put him in his own tent city, at least the hope is that it will scuttle any chance of this bigot being reelected Sheriff in 2012, and will dash the hopes of all the little bigots who cream their jeans at the thought of ARPAIO for President in 2012. Fresh off the campaign trail for nativist attorney Kris Korbach, where another of Sheriff Joe’s phony bomb threats occurred, the badge carrying assklown of Maricopa County announced his 16th terror assault on the counties Hispanic population, this time with a twist. DOJ Investigators take depositions in investigation of Arpaio

Justice Department investigators have met with religious and community leaders to hear testimonies on the anti-immigrant practices of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. Complaints of racial profiling in traffic stops, and physical and verbal abuse in the jails have mounted against deputies of the controversial sheriff Joe Arpaio for the last couple of years. But tensions have escalated since Sheriff Arpaio signed an agreement with the federal government in 2007 to enforce immigration laws. The controversial 287(g) program has been used to train 160 deputies in Maricopa County who conduct immigration sweeps in Latino neighborhoods and markets. Authority under 287(g) must now be renewed and Arpaio has until Oct. 15 to sign up for another term.

Once again this weekend, Joe Arpaio ignored crime in Maricopa County and set up roadblocks to apprehend anyone guilty of DWL (Driving while Latino) This is the first in a series of articles published in the summer of 2008 by the East Valley Tribune exposing the lunacy of Sheriff Joe Arpaio. For more than two years, Sheriff Joe Arpaio has dispatched his deputies to arrest hundreds of illegal immigrants as he’s retooled his force into an immigration enforcement agency. But it’s Maricopa County’s residents, particularly those living in small towns and rural stretches, who have paid the price for his decision.
