Arivaca Minuteman Murders - Two down One to go - Jason Bush received Death Penalty

Not that there was any doubt, but Jason Eugene Bush, Minuteman Shawna Fordes trigger man in the 2009 Arivaca home invasion murders, received the death penalty today by a Pima County jury for the murder of 9-year-old Brisenia Flores and her father Raul. In what has been a very swift yet bizarre trial, on March 25, jurors convicted Bush of two counts of first degree murder, attempted first-degree murder of Gina Marie Gonzalez, one count of burglary in the first-degree; one count of aggravated assault, serious physical injury; one count of aggravated assault, deadly weapon/dangerous instrument; one count of armed robbery; and one count of aggravated armed robbery. (The same charges as Minuteman Shawna Forde was convicted of.) Bizarre in MORE

Jason Eugene Bush Trial begins in Tucson today - Murdered Brisenia Flores in cold blood

The trial of triggerman Jason Eugene Bush, the second of three charged in the barbaric murder of Brisenia Flores and her father Raul begins today in Tucson in the courtroom of the Honorable John S. Leonardo, whose incredible jurisprudence led to the conviction of the ringleader of this murderous trio Minuteman Shawna Forde. Forde, now simply known as Inmate #260830 is currently on Arizona’s Death Row. I have no intent of following the Bush trial nor the Gaxiola trial that will follow in June as we did the Forde trial. There are various reasons for this. First and foremost, I am really tired of all three of them and this whole mess. We followed Forde because she was the ringleader of MORE

Minuteman Shawna Fordes lawyers ask for change of venue

Eric Larsen, one of the defense attorneys for accused Minuteman child killer Shawna Forde, as expected, filed a change of venue motion before Judge John Leonardo, claiming that there’s no way Forde can get a fair trial given the amount of pretrial publicity she has received. The motion was expected and usually made in high profile trials. According to reporter Kim Smith of the Arizona Daily Star, who has done an excellent job of following developments in the case;

Minutemen worked hand in hand with drug gang in Arivaca murders

Up until now, it has been thought that the sole motive for the murders of 9 year old Brisenia Flores and her father Raul was to enable accused Minuteman child killer Shawna Forde to be able to fund her border vigilante group Minuteman American Defense, with the proceeds from the botched home invasion robbery in Arivaca Aizona. But another possible motive was revealed in Judge John Leonardo’s court last week, in a document filed by the prosecution on September 20. The document reads;

Key Witness in Shawna Forde case receives intensive probation on weapons charge

A key witness in the case against Minuteman Shawna Forde,  Jason “Gunny” Bush and Albert Gaxiola, all accused of the home invasion murders of Raul and Brisenia Floresm has been placed under “intensive probation” for being a felon in possession of a weapon. Oin Oakstar of Arivac Arizona was questioned about the slayings, but was ultimately only indicted for being a felon in possession of a weapon. Facing a lengthy prison sentence, Oakstar agreed last month to plead guilty to the charge and testify against the three people indicted in the case if prosecutors would agree to a plea deal giving him probation and/or a reduced prison sentence. On Tuesday, Pima County Superior Court Judge Jane Eikleberry chose to sentence MORE
