The trial of triggerman Jason Eugene Bush, the second of three charged in the barbaric murder of Brisenia Flores and her father Raul begins today in Tucson in the courtroom of the Honorable John S. Leonardo, whose incredible jurisprudence led to the conviction of the ringleader of this murderous trio Minuteman Shawna Forde. Prosecutor Rick Unklesbay confirmed in a conversation with Judge John Leonardo that Laine Lawless has indeed filed a frivolous bar complaint against him and co-counsel Kelli Johnson claiming collusion between the prosecutors and the Judge in barring her from the courtroom during the recent trial of convicted double murderer Shawna Forde. The fact that Shawna Forde is, by my reading of the evidence, guilty of planning and ordering the executions of Brisenia and Raul Flores and the attempted killing of Brisenia’s mother, Gina Gonzalez, does not change that opinion. But I will try to be objective in looking at why the jury sentenced her to death. The Pima County jury hearing the case of convicted double murderer and Minuteman Shawna Forde have unanimously agreed that Forde should be put to death for the barbaric murders of 9 year old Brisenia Flores and her father Raul. The verdict was returned shortly before noon in the courtroom of the Honorable Judge John S. Leonardo who has presided over the case. The mitigation or penalty phase of convicted murderer Shawna Forde’s trial continued today as defense attorney Jill Thorpe tried to convince the jurors that Fordes life should be spared the death penalty. Some quick highlights: Dr. James P. Sullivan, forensic neuropsychologist hired by the defense team, that among other things, Forde told him she would have a major role in Governor Jan Brewer’s 2012 Presidential campaign. “She told me she was going to be the lead person in Jan Brewer’s campaign for president of the United States,” he testified.

We’re learning more about Minuteman Shawna Fordes reaction as the juries verdicts were announced in her capital murder trial this afternoon. Forde, founder of Minuteman American Defense (MAD) and associated with other Minuteman organizations in addition to leaders in the anti immigrant border vigilante movement, was convicted of two counts of felony murder in the deaths of Raul Flores and his 9 year old daughter Brisenia on May 30, 2009 in Arivaca. Additionally, she was convicted of attempted murder of Gina Flores and other charges. The ghost of playwright William Shakesphere was present in the courtroom on Thursday as defense attorney Eric Larsen quoted Act 5 Scene 5 of Macbeth in describing Shawna Fordes life as “A tale? told by an idiot, full of sound and fury signifying nothing.” And apt description but coming from her defense attorney? From there, he tried to deflect the blame from Forde and put it on Albert Gaxiolas former girlfriend Georgina Sue Moraga, claiming she was the short, fat white woman in the Flores home on the morning of May 30, 2009.
