Deputies with the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office responded Friday morning to the area of Parker Canyon located near Rio Rico Arizona for a group of illegal immigrants who were shot at. Sheriff Tony Estrada says that deputies received the call around 9:30 a.m. from the group who said they were shot at by 2 men wearing camouflage and using high-powered rifles. One of the 5 illegal immigrants was shot in the forearm and treated at an area hospital for his wounds. Agents from the U.S. Border Patrol searched the area with helicopters and on foot but were unable to locate the shooters.
