Happy New Year 2011

I’ll take a moment to wish a Happy New Year to all our tens of thousands of visitors who have helped us make Immigration Clearinghouse into what it is and to our thousands of subscribers and donors who motivate us to keep going. I’m not going to waste time doing a “2010 Year in Review”. The year ended with mixed results and we’ll leave it at that. Going into 2011, I’m going to spend more time with friends and family, something I’ve neglected the past year. But there are several things we’re going to be concentrating on.

Border Patrol Agent killed in gunbattle in southern Arizona

A Border Patrol agent from the agency’s swat team was shot and killed Tuesday night in a gunbattle with suspected bandits south of Tucson. Agent Brian A. Terry, 40, was killed when he and fellow agents exchanged fire with a group of five people about 11 p.m. in a remote area west of Rio Rico, said FBI spokeswoman Brenda Nath. Four of the five suspected bandits were in custody Wednesday morning, including one man who was hospitalized with gunshot wounds, said agent Brandon Judd, president of the agents’ union in Arizona, Local 2544. The severity of his injuries is unknown.

This was posted by one of his “donors” who calls himself “AIRBORNE SAPper“ from Florida. Enjoy and let us know what you think. It was in a thread having to do with passage of the DREAM ACT tonight, which has all their little panties in a wad. Their President, William Gheen, went on Fox News recently to claim that the Dream Act was a “political teddy bear with a hand grenade in it.” Wow. As usual, extreme groups are making extreme statements with little basis in reality. After yesterday’s meltdown by ALIPAC’s discredited president William Gheen, who made outrageous and unfounded accusations against the publisher of this website and tried without success to make them go viral, we woke up this morning to survey the fallout of his attempts to discredit this organization. Once more Mr. Gheen, you have failed miserably in your attempts to libel and defame an opponent. So what was the results of Gheen’s immature and outrageous smear campaign?

The stress of opposing passage of the DREAM ACT through lies, misinformation and the demonization of kids brought to this country as children has finally gotten the best of the discredited President of ALIPAC, William Gheen. Now, he seems to be seeing boogeymen behind every bush and the whole worlds out to get him. If that isn’t bad enough, he chooses to libel those of us advocating for passage of the DREAM ACT and Immigration reform, the actions of a loser who is about to see his whole house of cards tumble around him. Amid Apple’s much anticipated announcement this week that the Beatles catalog is now available on iTunes, NumbersUSA, an anti-immigrant organization that is part of a network with ties to white nationalists,has announced that an iPad/iPhone app of the same name was launched on November 9, 2010. NumbersUSA’s app has been approved by Apple and put onto its database for free download. A search for NumbersUSA on iTunes.com will give you, along with a podcast, this description: “NumbersUSA is a non-profit, non-partisan, public policy organization that favors an environmentally sustainable and economically just America. Another humiliating loss for ALIPAC's William Gheen

After days of exhorting his handful of followers to protest what he calls a “worthless and illegal piece of paper”, ALIPAC’s William Gheen suffered yet another humiliating defeat as the Durham (NC) City Council voted on Monday to recognize the Mexican Matricula Consular as official identification of persons legal and illegal and to allow police to accept the identification as legal ID. The resolution, which passed 5-2, cited IDs like the Matricula Consular.
