With the nation’s jobless rate at 10 percent and six applicants for every opening, you might think this is the worst possible time for Congress to legalize millions of illegal immigrants. Yet that’s one of the proposals in a new immigration reform bill introduced by Rep. Luis Gutierrez, D-Ill. Those who believe you can’t discuss immigration reform in a down economy must also assume that newly legalized immigrants would automatically compete for jobs with U.S. workers, and that the last thing our homegrown workforce needs in tough times is more competition. This is an easy argument to make, but it’s not a very strong one for three reasons.
Tea Baggers gone wild! ALIPAC racists and Xenophobes, an Uncle Tom, a Coconut, Orly Taitz Birthers, all came together on November 14, 2009, heeding the call of ALIPAC’s head buffoon, William Gheen. All dozen or so of them. Our friend Veronica (VronRN2) captures it all in this just released video. Naui seems to be having fun with these morons and societal derelicts. What a man. He takes all the stupid insults and laughs them off which seems to infuriate the moonbats that much more. Ya’ll can enjoy it also. We need a good laugh after the revelations concerning Shawna Forde and Brisenia Flores in the next post. Thanks for sharing Veronica.

Lou Dobb’s, the poster boy for mexenophobia in America, got the boot from CNN, and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano made a welcome speech at the Center for American Progress yesterday, in which she declared in no uncertain terms that the administration was intent on pursuing comprehensive immigration reform in early 2010. And today, supporters of ALIPAC and Willy Gheen take to the streets in small numbers to protest our efforts. We’ve seen the hateful rhetoric they will be using. Rhetoric which has garnered the attention and approval of such groups as the Neo-Nazi based STORMFRONT, and David Duke, former Grand Dragon of MORE
The venerable and well respected Southern Poverty Law Center released this statement this morning on the departure of Lou Dobbs from CNN. We Concur. Earlier this year, we called upon CNN to remove Lou Dobbs from the air for trading in falsehoods and racist conspiracy theories. Tonight we are glad that Dobbs has announced his departure from his influential position at CNN. In his announcement, Dobbs complained that the public debate over important issues is now defined by “partisanship and ideology rather than rigorous empirical thought and forthright analysis and discussion.” The truth is, Dobbs has done as much as anyone to poison the immigration debate by repeatedly reporting false information about immigrants. The most outrageous statement was his claim MORE
