Thanks to all of your support, yesterday, the Vitter-Bennett amendment, intended to wreck the Constitutionally mandated US Census, was defeated on a vote of 60-39.
Your calls, your letters, your blogs, and Tweets to your Senators to vote no on the Vitter-Bennett amendment made the difference.
The Vitter-Bennett Amendment would have required a question to be added to the census form relating to a persons citizenship.
This would have required hundreds of millions of dollars being spent to reprint census forms that are ready for circulation.
And the US Constitution, which many who supported this amendment purport to support and defend, requires the census to count EVERY SINGLE PERSON, in the United States, without regard to status.
Well Done Folks!
